Marking its third consecutive year at SATTE 2026, the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) will showcase the island’s strong tourism momentum and its deepening strategic engagement with the Indian market. With a special focus on Jamaica’s world-renowned romance and wedding tourism offerings.

Jamaica’s tourism sector has maintained a strong growth trajectory, with the destination recording over three million visitor arrivals by the end of 2025 and into early 2026, reflecting sustained global demand and renewed traveller confidence. This performance reinforces Jamaica’s position as one of the Caribbean’s most resilient and sought-after destinations, supported by strategic destination marketing, expanding air connectivity and a diversified tourism product.

“India represents a significant growth opportunity for Jamaica’s tourism sector,” said the Honourable Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism. “Indian travellers are sophisticated, discerning consumers who appreciate authentic cultural experiences, luxury hospitality, and bespoke travel offerings. Jamaica’s world-class romance tourism product, from intimate beachfront weddings to luxurious honeymoon experiences, aligns perfectly with what the Indian market is seeking. Our presence at SATTE 2026 underscores our commitment to building deeper partnerships with India’s travel trade and positioning Jamaica as the Caribbean’s premier romance destination for Indian couples.”

As part of its presence at SATTE 2026, the Jamaica Tourist Board will place a renewed spotlight on India as a priority growth market, aligning with the destination’s broader international marketing strategy. With Indian travellers increasingly seeking long-haul destinations that offer immersive cultural experiences, luxury, leisure, weddings and curated travel, Jamaica continues to see strong potential for growth from the market.

In this context, the Jamaica Tourist Board is preparing a focused marketing push for India, aimed at strengthening trade relationships, increasing destination visibility and driving deeper engagement with Indian travel partners and consumers. The upcoming initiatives are designed to build sustained awareness of Jamaica’s tourism offerings and support long-term market development.

Jamaica’s participation at SATTE 2026 reflects its commitment to strengthening partnerships with the Indian travel trade and media, while showcasing the destination’s evolving tourism landscape that extends beyond leisure travel to include culture, music, heritage, wellness and experiential journeys. The destination’s robust infrastructure for destination weddings, including dedicated wedding coordinators at major resorts, simplified legal requirements for overseas couples, and experienced local vendors, positions Jamaica as an ideal choice for Indian couples seeking a Caribbean destination wedding experience.

The Jamaica Tourist Board remains focused on expanding its presence across key international markets and leveraging platforms such as SATTE to reinforce Jamaica’s appeal as a dynamic, year-round destination for Indian travellers, including couples seeking unforgettable romance experiences in the Caribbean.

In a strong sign of investor confidence and product expansion in Jamaica’s tourism sector, the luxury Excellence Oyster Bay resort in Trelawny has announced a significant US $25 million expansion programme, adding 50 ultra-luxury villa accommodations with private butler and personalised service by the end of this year. The investment also includes about US $8 million in upgraded staff accommodation and wellbeing facilities, reinforcing the resort’s commitment to both world-class guest experiences and local employment. This announcement — made jointly by the resort’s CEO and Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism — comes as the property continues to rebound strongly after Hurricane Melissa, underscoring Jamaica’s growing appeal as a resilient, high-end destination with evolving product offerings for international travellers.

SriLankan Airlines has long made it a mission to bring India closer to Sri Lanka and the world. With close to 90 weekly flights between the two countries, and more to come, the airline has never been more energised about setting the pace for India’s expanding global footprint. SriLankan proudly counts India as its largest market, accounting for nearly 30% of the airline’s total passenger traffic and 23% of overall visitor arrivals to the island. Building on this momentum, the airline is poised to enhance its India operations this year through targeted strategic initiatives that will strengthen connectivity and reinforce the time-honoured bond between the two nations.

As 2026 unfolds, SriLankan Airlines plans to increase its weekly India services, currently covering Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Trivandrum, Madurai and Tiruchirappalli. The airline has consistently focused on serving both major metropolitan centres and emerging markets across India, extending its reach to underserved cities. Soon joining this network as SriLankan’s tenth Indian destination will be Ahmedabad. The airline has consistently focused on serving both major metropolitan centres and emerging markets across India, extending its reach to underserved cities.

With the addition of Ahmedabad, SriLankan Airlines will serve six of India’s eight major metropolitan hubs, further diversifying its India portfolio and boosting route economics by capitalising on year-round demand and strong cultural ties between the two countries. These initiatives are projected to increase Indian passenger traffic across the airline’s network by up to 12% this year.

SriLankan is well positioned to serve Indians jet-setting for any number of reasons, from leisure, business and trade to visiting friends and relatives, or attending destination events, including weddings. Whether travelling to Sri Lanka or beyond, with around 30% of Indian passengers transiting via Colombo, the airline provides seamless connections between the cities it serves in India and the Middle East, the Maldives, the Far East, Europe and Australia through its own and codeshare services.

SriLankan Airlines works closely with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and other trade partners in supporting national tourism ambitions. The airline’s promotional efforts are firmly rooted in positioning Sri Lanka as a vibrant and versatile destination with immense appeal to Indian travellers, offering festivals, cuisine, wellness, beaches, wildlife, history and spirituality. Most recently, SriLankan launched its award-winning epic Ramayana Trail campaign, an emotive storytelling journey inspiring Indian travellers to explore iconic sites along the epic’s legendary path in Sri Lanka.

About 60% of bookings by Indian passengers are made through indirect channels, including traditional trade partners and Online Travel Agents, while the remainder are made directly through SriLankan Airlines’ channels. As it expands its digital capabilities, SriLankan Airlines continues to nurture its trade partnerships, serving travellers across both channels pan India.

Engaging over 200 trade partners across Kolkata, Surat, and Ahmedabad, the multi-city initiative strengthened trade partnerships ahead of the peak travel season.

Mumbai, 13 February 2026: Strengthening its on-ground connection with the travel trade, Global Destinations concluded its 6th Annual Roadshow, bringing together 8 tourism brand partners and engaging with over 200 travel agents across Surat, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata. The multi-city initiative provided a focused platform for knowledge exchange, product updates, and the strengthening of meaningful relationships with the travel fraternity.

The cities were strategically selected for their growing outbound relevance. While Tier II markets such as Surat continue to demonstrate strong momentum, metro hubs like Kolkata and Ahmedabad remain key source markets for high-value, well-travelled clients seeking new destinations, innovative itineraries, and immersive travel experiences. The inclusion of at least one Tier II city is a conscious element of Global Destinations’ annual roadshow strategy, aimed at engaging trade partners who cater to discerning, high-spending clientele and offer strong growth potential.

Participating partners included AlliedTPro (USA), Australia & Worldwide Travel (Australia), Desert Adventures (UAE, Jordan & Oman), Escapes & Co. Travel (Morocco), Private Safaris (East Africa), Sopa Lodges (East Africa), Tangerine Tours (Sri Lanka), Threeland Travel (Indo China), and World of Travel Factory (Greece & Cyprus), each offering destination insights and product updates to support trade partners during a critical planning phase.

Sharing his perspective, Pranav Kapadia, Founder & Director, Global Destinations, said:

“Our roadshow is not just about reach, but about relevance. Its timing, just ahead of the peak travel season, allows trade partners direct access to destination insights when client enquiries are strongest. Engaging closely with partners across both emerging and established markets enables us to align offerings with evolving traveller expectations and grow business collaboratively.”

Global Destinations’ participation at OTM 2026 preceded the roadshow, enabling engagement with a wide network of travel professionals and reinforcing visibility for partner destinations during one of the industry’s key business events.

With strong participation and high-quality interactions across all three cities, the initiative reaffirmed Global Destinations’ commitment to empowering the trade and strengthening outbound travel growth across India.

The flagship travel exhibition by Informa Markets in India returns with 2,200+ exhibitors from 60+ countries, positioning India as the fastest-growing demand market in the global tourism arena. The 33rd edition of SATTE – South Asia Travel & Tourism Exchange will be held from 25–27 February 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, and is expected to welcome 45,000+ trade professionals, with participation from 2,200+ exhibitors representing over 3,200 brands worldwide.

Anchored around the theme “An Opportunity Called India,” SATTE 2026 will once again serve as the definitive platform connecting international destinations, tourism boards, airlines, hotels, technology providers, and travel companies with India’s rapidly expanding travel economy.

As India’s travel and tourism sector accelerates toward a projected USD 125 billion domestic market by 2027, and with the industry poised to contribute nearly 10% of the country’s GDP in the coming years, SATTE 2026 returns as the industry’s most comprehensive and representative B2B marketplace. The exhibition brings together policymakers, global destinations, travel buyers, technology innovators, and solution providers from India and across the world—reinforcing India’s role as one of the most influential engines of global tourism growth.

A Pan-India Marketplace Reflecting the Full Spectrum of Travel Demand

SATTE 2026 is positioned as the platform where India’s entire travel ecosystem connects with global tourism supply—spanning metros as well as emerging Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, and covering all major segments including leisure, corporate, MICE, weddings, cruise, luxury, and experiential travel.

By integrating inbound, outbound, and domestic travel buyers and sellers, SATTE reflects how India travels today—diversified, regionally distributed, and increasingly influential in shaping global tourism flows. India welcomed 20.57 million international tourists in 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic levels by 14.85%, while outbound travel demand continues to grow steadily across leisure, corporate, and destination-led segments—underscoring India’s status as one of the world’s most critical source markets.

Policy, Infrastructure and Industry Alignment at Scale

SATTE 2026 will see strong participation from central and state governments, with the Ministry of Tourism leading discussions around Tourism Vision 2047. State tourism boards including Goa, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Telangana, and Punjab have confirmed participation so far, showcasing regional tourism offerings, investment priorities, and infrastructure readiness.

Policy-led sessions will focus on key industry imperatives such as aviation and air-route expansion, convention and MICE infrastructure development, sustainable tourism and destination management, and public–private collaboration for long-term sector growth.

Conference highlights will include sessions such as Travel Titans: Inside the Winner’s Mind, Reimagining Incredible India!, India: The Next Travel Goldmine, From Hype to Habit: How AI Is Reshaping Global Travel, Decoding Affordable Luxury, India’s MICE Readiness, Scaling Tourism Through Communities, LCCs as Game-Changers, Why Food Is the New Passport, and Agency-Led Growth in the Digital Era.

Moreover, this edition will feature a special address by Anita Mendiratta, a globally respected executive advisor, author, diplomat, and on-air personality in tourism, aviation, and development. She serves as Special Advisor to the Secretary General of UN Tourism and is the Founder of ANITA MENDIRATTA & ASSOCIATES. With over three decades of experience across more than 100 countries, she has been recognised among the Top 25 Inspirational Executives in Travel & Hospitality and the Top 10 Business Leaders Driving Global Change in 2025.

Global Participation, Technology and High-Growth Segments in Focus

International participation at SATTE 2026 underlines India’s growing importance as a global source market, with strong representation from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and APAC. Participating destinations include Thailand, Malaysia, Maldives, Jordan, Egypt, Hong Kong, Nepal, Jamaica, and Vietnam, among others.

Travel technology and digital transformation will be a major focus, with leading platforms such as EaseMyTrip, Cleartrip, TBO, and TRIPJACK showcasing innovations in AI-enabled travel planning, mobile-first booking, and data-driven decision-making. India’s online travel market, currently valued at USD 25.38 billion, is projected to reach USD 38.58 billion by 2031, with over 65% of bookings now taking place via mobile platforms.

High-growth segments such as MICE, destination weddings, cruise tourism, and experiential travel will feature prominently. India’s wedding tourism market alone generates over USD 72 billion annually, with destination weddings accounting for nearly 25% of the segment.

Building on the momentum of 200+ business announcements and 23 formal MoUs recorded in the previous edition, SATTE 2026 is expected to deliver even stronger outcomes through enhanced hosted-buyer programmes and deeper collaboration with leading industry associations including SEPC, PATA India, TAAI, TAFI, OTOAI, ETAA, ADTOI, and ATOAI.

Yashobhoomi: A Future-Ready Convention Platform for Global Trade

SATTE 2026 returns to Yashobhoomi, India’s largest integrated convention and exhibition centre, purpose-built to host large-scale international trade exhibitions. With upgraded digital infrastructure, advanced operational systems, and seamless connectivity, the venue offers a world-class, high-volume B2B environment.

Its scale and accessibility enable three days of structured, outcome-driven business engagement—reinforcing SATTE’s position as the definitive platform where India meets the world of tourism.

Backed by two consecutive years of robust year-on-year growth of over 20 percent in Indian visitor arrivals, the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) is set to kickstart its 2026 India market development programme with two high-impact trade outreach initiatives, the Taiwan Mega Roadshow in Delhi and a strong participation at OTM 2026, India’s leading outbound travel exhibition, scheduled from February 5-7, 2026 at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre.

These initiatives mark a significant step forward in TTA’s sustained and strategic engagement with the Indian outbound market and are aligned with Taiwan’s global destination branding campaign, “Taiwan – Waves of Wonder.” Through focused trade activation, immersive destination showcases and strengthened partnerships, TTA continues to position Taiwan as a premier leisure and MICE destination for Indian travellers.

The Taiwan Mega Roadshow in Delhi, scheduled ahead of OTM, is aimed at deepening Taiwan Tourism’s engagement with key trade buyers from Delhi NCR, India’s largest gateway for outbound travel. The roadshow is expected to host around 125 leading travel trade buyers, offering them an in-depth discovery of Taiwan’s diverse tourism portfolio across leisure, luxury and MICE segments.

To deliver an immersive destination experience, the roadshow will feature interactive engagement zones including a Selfie Booth, AI Photo Booth, Digital Jigsaw Puzzle and other DIY activities, complemented by live performances by Taiwanese artists and a lucky draw. Adding an authentic Taiwanese flavour, the evening will showcase popular Taiwanese culinary delights such as Taiwanese fried chicken, bubble tea, and the iconic Kavalan whisky.

Both the Delhi roadshow and OTM participation will be supported by a strong contingent of 25+ Taiwanese tourism stakeholders, including key players such as Shih Chun Travel, Relax Go Taiwan, Welcome Wonder, Edison Tours, Apple Tour, Top International Travel Services, Tour One, and the Taiwan Visitors Association, along with officials from TTA.

Following the Delhi engagement, TTA will participate at OTM 2026 in Mumbai, as part of its strategic effort to widen outreach across Western and South India, two of the country’s fastest-growing outbound travel markets. The Taiwan Pavilion at OTM will feature a wave-inspired design, reflecting the spirit of “Waves of Wonder,” and will highlight Taiwan’s four-season tourism offerings, premium leisure experiences and strong MICE infrastructure, especially tailored for high-end Indian travellers and corporate groups.

The pavilion will also host cultural performances by Taiwanese artists and interactive DIY activities, enabling visitors to experience Taiwan’s culture, creativity and destination appeal in an engaging and memorable manner.

Commenting on the momentum and forward outlook, Paul Shih, Director – Singapore Office, Taiwan Tourism Administration, said: “India continues to be one of our most promising and strategically important tourism source markets. Over the last two years, our focused and market-specific efforts have resulted in sustained 20 percent plus growth from India, significantly outperforming overall outbound trends. With India’s outbound travel set for

long-term expansion, we remain deeply committed to investing in trade partnerships, destination awareness and product innovation. Our 2026 initiatives reaffirm our confidence in India and our intent to position Taiwan as a preferred destination for leisure, luxury and MICE travel.”

Taiwan’s focused efforts in India have translated into strong arrival numbers. In 2025, Taiwan recorded 46,134 visitor arrivals from India, marking a healthy 20.90 percent growth year-on-year. This sustained momentum follows TTA’s post-pandemic re-entry into India in January 2024 with a 360-degree market development strategy, encompassing trade roadshows, destination seminars, trade and media familiarisation trips, MICE activations, digital campaigns, PR outreach, influencer collaborations and participation at leading trade shows such as SATTE and OTM.

Over the past two years, TTA has also expanded its India strategy to include incentive travel, luxury tourism, golfing experiences, and targeted outreach in emerging markets such as East India, while continuing to strengthen partnerships with Indian travel trade, OTAs and airlines. These initiatives have helped Taiwan consistently outperform India’s overall outbound growth rate, reinforcing its growing preference among Indian travellers.

With strong trade participation, immersive destination experiences and a clear focus on partnership-led growth, Taiwan Tourism Administration’s 2026 India initiatives underline its long-term commitment to the market.

As Taiwan rides a new wave of growth from India, TTA invites the Indian travel trade to join hands in unlocking fresh opportunities, crafting compelling experiences and taking more Indian travellers to discover the many wonders of Taiwan.

SATTE, South Asia’s largest and most influential travel and tourism exhibition, hosted an exclusive networking evening at Kyma, on January 21. The event, held as a gesture of gratitude to the Mumbai travel trade fraternity, brought together industry leaders and friends for an evening of meaningful conversations, collaboration, and camaraderie in a relaxed yet vibrant setting.

Designed to encourage connections beyond formal meetings, the gathering offered travel professionals to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships, and explore new partnerships across the industry.

Guests from the trade and media got an exclusive preview of how SATTE 2026 is shaping up, including new initiatives, strategies to overcome past challenges, and opportunities to interact with Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets India; Pallavi Mehra, Sr. Group Director & Publisher, Travel Trends Today (T3), Informa Markets India; and team.

Welcoming the guests, Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets in India, shared his optimism for the upcoming edition, stating, “We are expecting a phenomenal edition of SATTE this time. This is the 33rd edition that we are celebrating and 2nd edition in Dwarka. The response from the industry has been very positive and tremendous, with full support.” He also reassured stakeholders on operational preparedness, adding, “There were challenges that we faced last year, but we can assure you that nothing of those are going to take place this time.” Highlighting the smooth execution of other events at the same venue, Mudras further noted, “We had another show in the same venue, and that went absolutely seamless, and we are expecting the same with SATTE 2026. We are all set to welcome you all.”

Pallavi Mehra, Sr. Group Director and Publisher of Travel Trends Today, Informa Markets in India, also addressed the audience, outlining what the industry can expect from the show. She underlined that SATTE 2026 is being shaped as “a seamless and the biggest edition yet,” with expanded opportunities for the travel trade fraternity. Speaking about the exclusive Buyer programme, introduced to enhance delegate experience, Mehra added, “We have done our homework to ease your experience with regards to stay in Delhi, as the hotel rates shoot up during the show, and that’s where we have the buyer programme to help our industry. We have an international buyer programme as well.”

The evening concluded on an upbeat note, with industry leaders expressing enthusiasm for SATTE and renewed confidence in stronger collaboration within India and across global markets.

SATTE is scheduled to take place from February 25-27 at Yashobhoomi, India’s International Convention & Expo Centre, New Delhi.

Utah Office of Tourism brought the spirit of Utah to India through exclusive trade and media networking events in Mumbai and Delhi, providing a platform to deepen collaboration with the Indian travel ecosystem and strengthen long-term partnerships between India and the State of Utah.

The events saw participation from 70+ leading travel trade partners and media representatives, underlining India’s growing importance as a high-value long-haul market for Utah. Indian visitation to Utah is projected to grow by approximately 10% by 2030, while spending from India is expected to increase by nearly 28%, reflecting longer stays, higher-value travel, and deeper destination engagement. Utah currently ranks 7th among U.S. states visited by Indian travellers, highlighting strong awareness alongside significant growth potential.

A key experiential highlight of the events was the Guided Glass Gardens – A Utah Landscape Terrarium Making Experience, a hands-on activity inspired by Utah’s diverse natural landscapes. Through the guided session, guests metaphorically “built their own Utah,” reflecting the destination’s balance of nature, creativity, sustainability, mindful luxury, and wellness. The experience encouraged relaxed interaction and networking while offering a memorable takeaway aligned with Utah’s outdoor and scenic identity.

Commenting on Utah’s engagement with India, Tera Atwood, Global Markets Manager, Utah Office of Tourism, said: “India is a priority market for the State of Utah, and our focus is on building long-term, high-value engagement. We are seeing Indian travellers stay longer, explore more deeply, and seek destinations that offer variety within a single journey—something Utah is uniquely positioned to deliver. Through these events, supported by immersive touchpoints, we reinforced Utah’s diversity, year-round appeal, and our commitment to growing meaningful partnerships with the Indian travel trade.”

Indian travellers are increasingly spending more time in Utah and engaging more meaningfully with the destination, signalling growing confidence in its ability to support immersive and well-paced itineraries. Travellers from India are gravitating toward destinations that combine dramatic scenery, strong infrastructure, and multi-generational appeal—an area where Utah stands out by offering iconic landscapes, scenic road trips, family-friendly experiences, and urban comforts within a single itinerary. Family-focused travel and immersive road trips are expected to continue driving growth in 2026, supporting longer stays and experience-rich itineraries.

Winter travel was also highlighted as a compelling opportunity to experience Utah differently. With world-class snow, easy access to ski resorts, and five iconic national parks within the same state, travellers can seamlessly combine winter getaways with national park visits. Utah’s unique geography further allows visitors to experience multiple seasons and climates in one trip, pairing alpine environments and cool mountain air with desert landscapes and warmer weather within a few hours’ drive.

Sustainability remains integral to Utah’s tourism approach, with a focus on encouraging travel beyond peak seasons, supporting local communities, and promoting guided, experience-led travel. Looking ahead to 2026, the Utah Office of Tourism remains committed to thoughtful growth, deepening trade partnerships, expanding education, and supporting itinerary development that benefits travellers, trade partners, and Utah’s local communities alike—further strengthening the bridge between India and Utah.
