Seamen Visa

  • The Applicant must possess a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the date of expiry of the visa.
  • Copy of the Passport.
  • Two visa forms (photocopy is allowed).
  • Two recent passport-size photographs.
  • A covering letter from the Applicant.
  • List of countries visited in the last 6 months.
  • Original invitation letter from Benin.
  • International certificate of vaccination (yellow fever vaccination certificate) is to be attached.
  • Proof of funds covering duration of stay or bank account statements.
  • A confirmed onward / return air ticket.
  • A No-Objection Certificate from the Employer (if applicable).
  • Onward Country visa or a sponsorship letter from Benin.
  • Copy of complete file.
  • Some cases are referred to Benin, for which the Embassy charges around INR 800 for courier. Approval can take 10-15 days.
  • Visa is issued for a maximum stay of 15 days, with single entry and is valid for 90 days.
  • If required, the visa can be extended by the Immigration Department in Benin.
  • Processing time is 2 to 3 working days.
