GTDC to offer white water rafting activity from today

The monsoon season has arrived bringing with itself the perfect time to ride the waves of the gorgeously moody Mhadei River amidst the spectacular jungle scenery along the Mhadei wildlife sanctuary!

To provide this experience, GTDC will be recommencing its white water rafting activity from 28th June to September this year. There will be two rafting trips held each day with the first trip starting at 9:30 am and the second at 2:30 pm. Each trip will go on for 2.5 to 3.5 hours running 10 km each, stirring and elating you, along the breathtaking landscape!

For an enthralling experience of white water rafting, you will need to assemble at The Earthen Pot Restaurant in Valpoi from where a 25 minute drive and thereafter a 10 minute walk into the Mhadei river valley will lead you to the rafting site. Here you will be fitted with the equipment and briefed by the river guides on safety instructions to ensure that you have a safe and memorable ride. Don’t worry even if you are a beginner for the highly trained and experienced staff is there to take care of your safety.

This year, the white river rafting experience promises to be different. For Goa Tourism has tied up with a top adventure sports video company in the country to capture your rafting experience through a personalized video, which would be shared via WhatsApp or Google Drive the same day. This comes along with a souvenir framed picture as well!  There are also plans to offer a bus service for INR 200 from Panjim and the Northern beaches twice daily to make your commute seamless.

Speaking on the river rafting trend in Goa, Nilesh Cabral, Chairman of Goa Tourism Development Corporation stated, “Goa has always been one of the best Indian destinations for relaxation offering a plethora of water sport activities. Out of the numerous ones available, navigating the rapids of the Mhadei River through our river rafting activity has been gaining immense popularity among tourists. Hence, this year we decided to associate with a top adventure sports video company to create personalized videos of our adventure enthusiasts braving along the Mhadei River, which can be taken home as a memorabilia. In future as well, we will continue to explore different tie-ups that would help us enhance the experience of our travellers.”

The trip is ideal for beginners and children above the age of 10. Secure footwear and proper clothing is mandatory.

The trip costs Rs.1890/- per person including 5% GST.
