SOTC witnesses 25-30 % growth in South India

  • Launches exclusive tailor made packages for travellers
  • Strong uptake for the company’s Regional Tamil tours

In a focused effort to cater to its growing south region travellers, SOTC has organized special regional Tamil tours. For SOTC, Tamil Nadu is a key market and it has observed a growth of over 25-30% annually as compared to the previous year. Cities like Salem, Coimbatore, Chennai, Erode and Pondicherry continue to show impressive growth. With the emerging potential witnessed from Port Blair as well SOTC will be venturing into opening a branch shortly to meet its demand.

SOTC is also keen on reaching out to smaller cities with several initiatives as a part of its customer outreach creating easily accessible touch points for customers in all parts of Tamil Nadu, this being with the Darshanam and the SOTC holiday weekend Mega Sale. SOTC’s research has revealed that Tamil Nadu’s consumers are adventurous travellers who are keen to explore the world. There has been a significant growth in bookings to international destinations like Singapore, Europe, Malaysia & Bali. Additionally, SOTC has seen strong interest for domestic destinations like Andaman, Rajasthan and Kashmir which are the most popular amongst travellers from South India. Tamil travellers are also making use of long weekends opting for short haul destinations and hence they make quick getaways to places that are easy to get to like Andamans, Lakshadweep, etc.

South Indian tours (Vanakam & Dharshanam) are special tailor-made group escorted tours that have seen impressive growth of over 200% and USPs include a friendly Tamil speaking experienced SOTC Tour Manager, the company of Tamil speaking co-travellers, regional cuisine and a South Indian menu of delights while on tour. SOTC’s products are designed to create delightful experiences for the travellers amidst exotic locations spanning across destinations, with experienced ground & support staff at destinations like London, Paris, Switzerland, Rome, etc.

SOTC’s entry into the Tamil Nadu market segment has drawn focus to not only the business travellers but also the leisure business segment and the highly viable b-leisure segment (business plus leisure). The company’s highest enquiries come from the State include leisure, bleisure and MICE.

Daniel D’souza- Head of Sales, India & NRI Markets & E-Commerce, SOTC Travel said, “The Tamil Nadu market is an advanced market and they look to travel and indulge in new experiences and culture.
