Tigerair strengthens India operations to Singapore in the New Year

  • Airlines introduces additional flights to Hyderabad and Tiruchirappalli
  • Celebratory All-inclusive round-trip fare from Hyderabad to Singapore at just INR 11,599

Tigerair, the leading Singapore-based budget carrier that connects to six Indian destinations, further strengthens its base in India with one seasonal additional frequency each to Hyderabad and Tiruchirappalli. From 25th April to 15th June 2016, the airline will increase flight frequency on its Hyderabad-Singapore route taking the total count to seven weekly flights, while the Tiruchirappalli-Singapore route will have a total of 14 weekly flights. This move is part of Tigerair’s growth strategy in the India market and its commitment to meet the increasing demand from travellers in India.

To celebrate this announcement, Tigerair has announced an all-inclusive return fare to Singapore from INR 11,599. Passengers travelling from Hyderabad can avail of this offer by booking tickets from 20th January 2016 to 31st January 2016, while the applicable travel period is from 9th March 2016 to 16th April 2016 for bookings made on www.tigerair.com. (Special fares for all India destinations in the table at the end).

The airline has been committed to provide affordable fares to Indian passengers to visit Singapore, a fun filled family destination, since its operations began in India. To ensure an overall memorable experience, Tigerair has partnered with Singapore Tourism Board with an aim to encourage travellers from India to witness the thrilling sights and sounds of Singapore. Indians travelling to Singapore will benefit from this collaborative effort thereby gaining an assured exciting holiday.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Teh Yik Chuan – Director – Sales and Marketing, Tigerair Singapore said, “Tigerair has always viewed India as an extremely significant part of our global network as we realise the potential and opportunities that the market has to offer. The increase in frequency on the Hyderabad-Singapore route and Tiruchirappalli-Singapore route is due to the overwhelming response from these market during the peak season. The special fares will further benefit our travellers from India to visit Singapore bundled with convenience of travel.”

Sharing her thoughts on the partnership, Ms. Bridget Goh – Area Director, India & Sri Lanka, Singapore Tourism Board said, “Last year, Singapore celebrated its Golden Jubilee and one of key collaboration was the partnership between Tigerair and STB for a successful marketing campaign targeted at Indian travelers from South India and Lucknow, its latest network city. As of November 2015, more than 924,000 Indian travellers have visited Singapore, registering 7.4% growth. As a popular destination among Indian travellers, Singapore has a multitude of experiences for a fun-filled family holiday as well as vibrant lifestyle offerings for working millennials seeking a short getaway. We are excited to continue our partnership with Tigerair and offer Indian travellers to start 2016 with attractive fares and indulge in spending quality time with loved ones in Singapore.” India is the top 5 visitor market for Singapore with over 943,000 Indian travellers in 2014 and the average length of stay being 6.8 days,” she added.

Tigerair operates a total of 44 weekly flights to Singapore from six Indian destinations – Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, Kochi and Tiruchirappalli. Travellers can explore Singapore and at the same time also take advantage of Tigerair’s wide network to explore newer destinations at attractive fares. The airline also connects to Bali, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Perth, Taipei via Singapore, the gateway to amazing destinations in Asia Pacific and Connect to Sydney, Gold Coast and 11 more destinations with 50 weekly flights via Singapore in collaboration with Scoot.
