The land of unlimited options for Indian tourists
The magic of Australia has caught the fancy of Indian outbound travellers who prefer to include culinary tourism, sports tourism and self-drives in their travel itineraries.
In the era of iPhone, Indian travellers are looking for experiences beyond monuments, museums and markets. They have developed a passion to explore wilderness lodges, vineyard retreats, island hideaways and outback camps. And the destination of choice is none other than Australia. The lure of having a glimpse of non-conventional getaways like Kangaroo Island, Hamilton Island and Tasmania can turn into a lifetime experience for travellers.
Tourism Australia has rolled out an integrated brand campaign themed- “There’s nothing like Australia” with a view to generate awareness on one-of-a-kind Australian experiences among Indian travellers during the forthcoming holiday season. Nishant Kashikar, Country Manager, India and Gulf, Tourism Australia informed, “The campaign will come up with attractive offers from our leading distribution partners like Kesari Tours, Yatra.com, Vacations Exotica and MakeMy Trip.com. We will also work together with our significant airline part- ners including Singapore Airlines, Air India and Silk Air for joint advertising campaigns offering special fares for prospective travellers.”
Tourism Australia believes in developing healthy relations with the travel trade to facilitate better business. Kashikar stated, “We do have a consistent trade engagement programme for Indian travel agents to maintainmutual beneficial association. We would soon launch a new, improved version of our online Aussie Specialist Programme for travel agents in September, this year.”
"“There is a growing interest towards culinary tourism, sports tourism and self-drives among Indian visitors.”"
