Ethiopian Airlines Establishes a Foundation

Ethiopian Airlines is delighted to announce the legal formation and official registration of a new Charity organization. The name of the Charity is officially registered as ‘The Ethiopian Airlines Foundation (EAF)’. The Patron of the new Foundation is our Group CEO, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam while the Board Chairperson is Mr. Busera Awol, the CCO, and the Founding General Manager of the Foundation is Mr. Wasihun Asres who pursued the cause since 2009 till its realization today.

While congratulating all for the inauguration of our Foundation, the Group CEO, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam said, “This Foundation is the first of its kind in the history of Ethiopian  Airlines and will be served as a charity arm of the Airline to implement our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in a more structured and organized manner. Our support to the community will be much more integrated now than ever. The fact that our Foundation has been registered and received license is a big opportunity to explore a wide range of needy people in the community and extend our support. I would like to hereby invite all management members and employees of the Airline to actively participate in supporting the Foundation either by contributing in the form of regular payroll deductions from their monthly salaries, giving donations and pledges, fund raising and other possible ways.”
