Soon, a ropeway to come up in Nainital to get rid of traffic congestion
There will soon be a ropeway connecting Ranibagh in Haldwani to Jyolikote in Nainital.The ropeway will cover a distance of around 14 km. The concerned authorities have now envisaged a plan to construct the said ropeway.
It will save both money and time of the tourists. According to the Nainital police, the famed lake city witnesses lakhs of tourists during weekends. It is expected that the coming up of this ropeway, tourist will likely get relief from traffic congestion.
Referring to this development, Harvir Singh, Additional District Magistrate Nainital, said that the ropeway project will be ready soon. He also said, “The survey will also test the points for the installation of pillars, seismic spots if any and the pathway to be taken.” The official further pointed out that the ropeway would also be helpful during relief and rescue operations.
The Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) will be performing the task of creating the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the ropeway. A joint inspection by the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam and district administration has been carried out around the spots, which will be used as the launch pad as well as the finishing point at Hanumangarhi in Nainital.
It is also important to note here that the construction of a rope way is also underway between Mussoorie and Dehradun, the starting point of which would be from Purkul village. When the ropeway becomes ready and operational, it will prove to be boon for the locals and the tourists too in all likelihood.
