Fully vaccinated travellers can now enter Switzerland
The Swiss Government along with the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) eased restrictions for travel into Switzerland.
As of 26th June 2021, travellers, irrespective of country of origin, who have been fully vaccinated with a WHO-approved vaccine (i.e., both the doses of the vaccine + the 15 days cooling off period post the 2nd dose) can enter Switzerland without undergoing many health-related measures at the time of entry, including quarantine.
The Embassy of Switzerland Visa Section in Delhi and VFS Global have started accepting applications for all types of Schengen Swiss visas, including Type C.
However, please do note:
- For Indians, at the moment, only Covishield is approved in Switzerland.
- Covaxin and Sputnik are not approved as yet.
- The exemptions to the health-related measures at the border apply for twelve months from the time that the traveller was fully vaccinated
- Children under the age of 18 years, travelling with fully vaccinated adults, can enter Switzerland, but will have to undergo the mandatory 10 days of quarantine.
