Turkey Visa Application Centre inaugurated in Mumbai, India
Centre in Mumbai is among the 18 Turkey Visa Application Centres being rolled out across India, the Maldives and Nepal
The VFS Global Turkey Visa Application Centre in Mumbai was officially inaugurated by the Turkish Consul General in Mumbai, Mr Erdal Sabri Ergen, at a ceremony held on 1 July 2016. Mr Ergen was accompanied by other dignitaries from the Turkish Consulate, and members of VFS Global staff, while visiting the new facility that is located at Urmi Axis Building, Ground Floor, Behind Famous Studio, Opp. E Moses Road, Mahalaxmi (West), Mumbai – 400 011.
This inauguration comes close on the heels of the contract signing between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and VFS Global in March 2016, to roll out centres in 18 cities across India, the Maldives and Nepal, namely Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Goa, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jalandhar, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Puducherry and Thiruvananthapuram in India, and Malé (the Maldives) and Kathmandu (Nepal).
The enhanced service network will save time and travel expense for applicants, and will speed up the visa application process. Services at all locations were launched for visa applicants on 1 April 2016. This partnership makes VFS Global the authorised visa processing service partner for Turkey, in India. Visa requests for Indian passport holders in India (or any other passport holders applying for visa in India) will be done through VFS Global offices. Please note this is for sticker visa only. E-visa for Indian passport holders with possession of valid Schengen/USA/UK/Ireland is a separate procedure and will be done online through www.evisa.gov.tr.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr Erdal Sabri Ergen, Turkish Consul General in Mumbai, said, “Visitor numbers for Turkey has increased 2.5 times in six years. We are determined to do our best to open the gates wider for Indian nationals who wish to visit Turkey, which is already one of the top destinations for tourism worldwide. Turkey is committed to positively enhancing co-operation with India and we believe that the launch of these visa centres will contribute to the enhancement of the co-operation between Turkey and India particularly in the fields of tourism and economy.”
