Sabre’s first Asia Pacific Travel Technology Exchange conference kicks off in Beijing
Sabre will showcase the new Sabre Red Workspace – a major merchandising platform launch for 2017 – for the first time in APAC during the conference!
Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR), the leading technology provider to the global travel industry, is hosting over 500 travel agents, airline and supplier representatives and members of the APAC travel industry in China this week, to discuss breakthrough technologies making waves at the intersection of travel and technology.
Notably, Sabre will be revealing its newest breakthrough product for selling and booking, the new Sabre Red Workspace merchandising platform, alongside other key solution showcases. Speakers from Sabre’s Asia Pacific and US leadership teams will discuss opportunities within the industry – from agency automation to adopting messaging apps for travel – and host a series of dialogues evaluating the most important trends and technologies disrupting travel.
“We want this week to serve as a timely update on what we’re up to, just over one year on from our major regional Travel Network expansion, but also a platform for two-way discussion on what lies ahead. That’s how we ensure we’re evolving with our customers, and their unique challenges. New technologies are best adopted when people talk and share their experiences. The next few days are all about the exchange,” commented Roshan Mendis, senior vice president of Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific.
Delegates arrive at the JW Marriot Beijing today, where the conference is taking place, from over 26 countries. On the choice of location for the event, Roshan added:
“A lot of the 425,000 travel agency subscribers to Sabre’s global travel marketplace are selling travel to China today, and this includes many of our travel agency customers in APAC. So it seemed apt that we hold our first major Sabre APAC travel technology industry event here in this important global tourism destination.”
In 2015, over 25 million foreigners visited China of which over 60 percent were Asian tourists.
