CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurates the Largest Investment Conclave ‘Make In Odisha’
Odisha’s biggest ever investment summit ‘Make in Odisha Conclave’ was inaugurated recently by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaikin the august presence of government and corporate dignitaries from across the world. The Make in Odisha Conclave organized in association with Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Government of India & Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) being held from November 30 to December 2, 2016 at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneshwar, will have over 100 corporates participating in the Expo.
The inauguration ceremony began with a ribbon cutting ceremony done by the Hon’ble Chief Minister along with Debi Prasad Mishra, the Hon’ble Minister for Industries, School & Mass Education, Govt. of Odisha, Puspendra Singh Deo, Hon’ble Minister for Dept of Housing & Urban Development, Govt. of Odisha, Ashok Chandra Panda, Hon’ble Minister in-charge, Dept. of Tourism, Govt of Odisha, Sanjay Kumar Das Burma, Minister of state Skill Development and Technical Education Dept, Govt. of Odisha, Pradip Kumar Amat, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Public Enterprises, Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha, Jogendra Behera, Hon’ble Minister of state MSME, Public Grievances and Pension Administration, Govt. of Odisha, Pranab Prakash Das, Hon’ble Minister of state (Independent Charge), Energy, Electronics & Information Technology, Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi, Hon’ble Minister of state (Independent Charge), Higher Education, Science & Technology and Rural Development and Srimati Snehangini Chhuria, Hon’ble Minister of state (Independent Charge), Handlooms, Textiles &Handicrafts, S.T. & S.C. Development, W & C.D.followed by a Naval Brass Band performance.
A tour of the expo by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, along with the guests of honour was later followed up with a spectacular lazer show bringing out the true essence of the Conclave. The program ended with an extravagant and grand performance encapsulating the culture of Odisha by renowned artist Aruna Mohanty and her troupe of 118 dancers which left the audience mesmerized drawing a close to the program.
Odisha, which champions its well-established mining industry, will for the first time open its doors and showcase its large manufacturing ecosystem and highlight the various investment opportunities for corporates from around the world. Drawn from the Government’s ‘Vision 2025: Odisha Industrial Development Plan’, the state’s mission through ‘Make in Odisha’ will showcase and highlight Odisha as an ultimate investment destination and diversify its investment opportunities across key focus sectors namely Downstream and Ancillary in Metal, Food Processing including Seafood, Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Plastics, Textiles and Apparel, Defence, Electronics, Start-Ups and Tourism.
With more than 100 companies taking part in the first edition of the Make in Odisha Conclave, a special Defence hangar is also created which showcases India’s short to long range missile technology the Agni, Prithvi, Brahmos and Akash missiles as well as the Sukhoi aircraft engines manufactured in Odisha.
