Now you just need one visa to travel across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia
Malaysia has launched a multiple-entry e-visa for Indian tourists.
In what is a win-win situation for us Indians, you will now be able to visit Malaysia and its neighbouring countries by using just one visa. In a bid to promote in-bound tourism from India, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, has announced the launch of multiple-entry e-visa for Indian tourists.
The multiple-entry visa will be valid for 15 days and can be used by Indian travellers to fly to Malaysia, visit South Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia on their way back. As of now, Malaysia will serve as the gateway to ASEAN for Indians, a good response to which might lead to the extension of the visa to other nationalities as mentioned by the Tourism and Culture minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz.
“I would like more Indians to visit Malaysia and have decided on no visa fee, online application approval within 48 hours, and multiple-entry e-visa to be accorded for Indian nationals,” TravelBizMonitor quotes Razak as saying. India is among the top source markets for Malaysia. Last year, the country received 540,530 Indian arrivals, between January-October, 2016. And this new service is sure to boost arrivals further to ASEAN and to Malaysia in particular.
