American Express Global Business Travel Completes Acquisition of Hogg Robinson Group

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has successfully completed the acquisition of Hogg Robinson Group plc (HRG), a global B2B services company specializing in travel management. The combined group is expected to offer clients and travellers a wider range of products and services, bringing together the best of both businesses including technology, people and a comprehensive geographic footprint.

Beginning today, integration work will move ahead to ensure American Express GBT remains at the forefront of the industry while driving benefits of the acquisition. American Express GBT will seek to accelerate growth by utilising the complementary footprints of each company and leveraging existing infrastructure and technology capabilities. The HRG brand will remain in place as the integration process begins.

From today, Joanna Macleod, American Express GBT’s EVP, Traveler Care, has been appointed Chief Transformation Officer to facilitate the successful integration of the companies, while William Brindle, HRG’s Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for American Express GBT.
