Often referred to as the ‘Asian Oktoberfest’, the Qingdao International Beer Festival is the largest extravaganza of its kind held in the Shandong province of China. Qingdao is the unrivalled beer capital of China and in its 27th year, the festival celebrates not only the art of brewing but also China’s little-known claims to inherit German culture. This colossal event kicked off on 4th August and is on till 27th August at Golden Sands Beach located in Huangdao district.

The highlights of the festival include beer tasting, evening entertainment & performances and drinking competition; besides the festival also has a number of beer tents, shops and restaurants, catering for a variety of tastes. Every year daily performances are given at the Beer Town’s Center Theatre, where colorful fountains, hi-tech laser shows and dramatic audio effects wow audiences.

Qingdao International Beer Festival has become a major event in the calendar of the beautiful city. Qingdao is the largest beer production base in China and the festival provides a great opportunity to show-off the city’s unique characteristics. With a great history, Qingdao International Beer Festival is now a nationally recognized event, and successfully combines together aspects of tourism, culture and sport, while also playing a valuable role in promoting the economic interests of the city. As one of the most important festivals of China, it has a worldwide reputation and attracts millions of people to take part every year.
