Dr Jayant Sinha becomes the new MoS of Civil Aviation

Dr Jayant Sinha – Minister of State  for Civil Aviation

In the first major expansion and reshuffle of the Union Cabinet effected from 5 July, 2016 by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, among other major changes in the portfolios of existing Ministers. Dr Jayant Sinha has replaced Dr Mahesh Sharma as the MoS for Civil Aviation. Sinha is a Member of Indian Parliament and formerly a Minister of State Finance and an investment fund manager and management consultant.

In May 2014, he was elected to the Lok Sabha, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. He has over 25 years of experience as an investor and strategy consultant. He has served as a member of two important parliamentary committees – the Public Accounts Committee and the Standing Committee on Finance. Sinha holds an M.B.A. with Distinction from the Harvard Business School, an M.S. in Energy Management & Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Technology degree with Distinction from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
