Hilton Worldwide opens trio of hotels in UK & Ireland

Hilton Worldwide is set to extend its relationship with Amaris Hospitality by converting three hotels in UK & Ireland under its brands. Hilton Edinburgh Carlton, DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central and Hilton Garden Inn Dublin Custom House will join Hilton Worldwide’s portfolio of nearly 170 hotels trading or under development in UK & Ireland, adding more than 700 new rooms when they convert in 2016.

The hotels are owned by Amaris Hospitality, one of the UK’s leading hospitality companies with 89 hotels in its portfolio, and will be operated by Amaris Hospitality under a franchise agreement.

Hilton Garden Inn Dublin Custom House will convert from an existing Jurys Inn hotel, and will mark the mid-market brand’s debut in the Republic of Ireland. DoubleTree by Hilton will welcome DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, and The Carlton Hotel in Scotland’s capital, overlooking the city’s spectacular Royal Mile, will rebrand as Hilton Edinburgh Carlton. Amaris Hospitality will invest £30 million in the hotels prior to rebranding.

The hotels join DoubleTree by Hilton properties in Chelsea and Islington, and a Hilton Garden Inn at London’s Heathrow Airport, all of which converted from Jurys Inn properties in 2014, and continue to be operated by Amaris Hospitality.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe & Africa, Hilton Worldwide said: “The ongoing success of our three existing hotels with Amaris Hospitality, added to this new agreement, reflects the incredible impact of converting under our brands. As guests’ travel habits become ever more sophisticated, the need to compete globally is driving more and more owners to affiliate with our internationally recognised brand portfolio, enhancing their visibility in front of an audience of nearly 42 million annual visitors to the UK & Ireland.”
