For smart travellers with an inclination to wellness tourism, Kerala Tourism is into standardizing the Ayurvedic system in the state.

The topmost tourist destination of current India is undoubtedly Kerala and Kerala Tourism has declared the New Year as Visit Kerala 2016- season of surprises. The state boasts of three global connectivity- Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin and Kozhikode.

Tourism in Kerala is growing at a steady rate and the state has registered an impressive growth of 13 per cent last year. The state has more than 100 luxury heritage hotels. According to Nand Kumar, Deputy Director, Kerala Tourism, “Kerala has emerged as a super tourism brand and visitors travel to Kerala only for the purpose of tourism.

Next to Goa, the state occupies the second slot in the sphere of MICE tourism. Around 25 per cent of tourists travelling to the state are MICE visitors. We have a wide gamut of tourism products and the state is regarded as the home of Ayurveda. We are in the process of identifying home stay facilities offering promotions to those engaged in home stay options. New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bengaluru are our traditional tourist markets while the North-east India is our emerging market.”
