Sands China Ltd. has won the ‘New Hotel Construction & Design’ title in the China category for its newest integrated resort The Parisian Macao at the prestigious 2017 Asia Pacific Property Awards held in Bangkok, Thailand, on May 25–26.

Judged by an independent panel of 70 industry experts, criteria focuses on design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability.
“The Parisian Macao is a key part of the vision for the development of Cotai Strip by our Chairman Mr. Sheldon G. Adelson. Creating this world-class tourism destination for Macao was led by our President Dr Wilfred Wong and a team of designers, architects and construction and engineering professionals who all take great pride in receiving this accolade,” said Mr. Mark McWhinnie, Senior Vice President of Resort Operations and Development, Sands China Ltd.
Inspired by the magic and wonder of the famed “City of Light”, The Parisian Macao was designed to authentically evoke Paris both inside and outside the property, with more than 20 stunning recreations of its best-known landmarks. These include the half-scale Eiffel Tower, expansive Porte Cochère, Arc de Triomphe, gardens, fountains, mazes and pools, the gilded doors of the Palais Garnier-inspired façade, magnificent lobby Rotunda, grand promenades and bronze Fontaine des Mers.
A highlight of the development, the Eiffel Tower utilises more than 2,800 tonnes of steel, 853,000 decorative rivets, 6,600 lights and 26 kilometres of electrical cabling in its construction.
