Vistara launches hackathon for aviation sector in order to address challenges related to aviation sector
The idea behind it is to basically address problems in the areas like tracking traveller behaviour and personalisation, amongst other challenging aspects.
The Hackathon is being held in partnership with IncubateIND with the idea of finding developers, designers, and data scientists that blend innovation with creativity and construct solutions out of it.
The all-India ‘Vistara Hackathon’ will be held in NCR and Bengaluru from October 7, 2017 to October 8, 2017, for which registration are open till September 25, 2017.
As per the airline, the hackathon will involve 20 teams that will create new applications to address aviation-related challenges in areas such as, tracking traveller behaviour and personalisation, amongst other challenging aspects. The challenge has eight categories: The business travel journey, data travel, travel and tourism, software and API, customer survey complaints, IoT or robotics, customer experience and marketing.
Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO, Vistara, said: “Vistara Hackathon’ is a reflection of our innovative approach to leverage on technology in our effort to change the way people travel in India, and therefore, bring them the ‘new feeling of flying’ with Vistara.”
“Change the world of hassle & puzzled Airlines during a 30 hour hack, in which you’ll take air retailing to the next level,” the hackathon website states.
The Hackathon is open only for teams with a minimum of two members and a maximum of five members. The ideas have to be new and innovative and not something that already exists. Vistara is offering prizes worth lakhs that include Amazon Kindle, Firestick TV, gift cards and credits of Amazon Web Services. Those who win the hackathon may also get an opportunity to work with Vistara and Amazon.
