World Travel Awards recognises Layana Resort as Asia’s Leading Spa Resort

With more than 650,000 votes cast in the 2015 World Travel Awards, travel professionals and high-end tourism consumers have made a clear statement as to who the leaders and innovators in the travel industry are. Among those winners was Layana Resort & Spa, which was recognised as a winner for a fifth consecutive year as ‘Asia’s Leading Spa Resort’ as well as a second consecutive year as ‘Thailand’s Leading Spa Resort.’

The annual World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry and today they are recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.

This year marked the 22nd anniversary celebration of WTA and a milestone for Layana, as they have received at least one award annually since 2011. Layana Resort & Spa just celebrated their eleventh anniversary, with guests getting a preview of the nearly completed addition to Linger Longer Spa, the brand new ‘Wellness Zone.’

Included in this ambitious upgrade is a second half Olympic sized swimming pool, Healthy Juice Bar, state-of-the-art fitness center and much more. Winning these awards is a bittersweet accomplishment for Layana general manager, Stefan Heintze as he and his team has given years of tremendous effort, focus and investment to create the finest spa resort in Asia.

He said: “This year is about the celebrating the future of Layana as Asia’s leading Spa resort and giving thanks to our loyal guests who have continuously supported us for 11 years and counting.

“This is the largest investment we have ever made in our spa and wellness, which was undertaken in order to exceed the expectations of our current guests and anticipate their future needs, so that we may continue to be recognised as the best.”
