Cleartrip celebrates 11 years of offering the most seamless & comprehensive travel booking experience

Cleartrip recently celebrated its 11th anniversary, marking more than a decade of delivering seamless and cutting-edge travel solutions in the country and abroad. Offering convenience, choice without confusion, multiple payment options, competitive prices, and exclusive destination information, Cleartrip has firmly established itself as the country’s favorite travel portal for customers looking for a refreshingly simple booking experience.

The relevance of Cleartrip’s latest milestone becomes particularly important in context that the platform has thrived with a robust year-on-year growth starting at the time when e-commerce was in its nascent stages in the country. As a leading player among OTAs, the frontrunner in the Indian e-commerce landscape, Cleartrip has played an important role in taking the Indian consumer online.

Speaking on the occasion, Prasad Menon, Chief People Officer, Cleartrip said, “It has been a wonderful journey for Cleartrip so far. We have been constantly striving towards one clear goal – to help make travel decisions fast and simple. It is our innovative endeavors that have helped us mature as the most sought-after choice among customers in the online travel space in India and international markets, and achieve the kind of success that we have had year after year. We will be looking to add more illustrious chapters to our growth story.”

One of the prime reasons behind Cleartrip’s continued success is its clear focus on customer-centricity. Instead of investing in ostentatious marketing stunts, the brand has focused on developing best-in-breed products aimed at making travel simpler and more convenient for its users. This reflects in its simple, clean platform design and its intuitive and engaging UI, which has earned it recognition and praise from various industry bodies and expert forums.

“At Cleartrip, we believe that small things can have a big impact. This is why we continually strive to enhance our user experience and keep in mind the minutest detail while designing our products. We always believed, that an Indian company can deliver world-class products and services. And we have managed to do just that by garnering global respect and recognition for our offerings. With our focus on profitability, we’re very clear that Cleartrip’s passion for usability and elegant design, the two elements which have made us a firm favorite with tech-savvy Indian consumers, will not change,” Menon added.

Cleartrip celebrated the occasion with an 11-day long celebration. Besides engaging contests about the ‘Life at Cleartrip’ for its employees, A Magical Day Out with the children of Magic Bus India Foundation was the highlight of the celebrations. Employees from Cleartrip offices accompanied children from Magic Bus for an educational tour to places like national parks and planetariums. Magic Bus works with children and young people from marginalised communities, taking them from a childhood full of challenges, to a life with meaningful livelihoods. The NGO equips young people with the skills and knowledge they need to grow up and move out of poverty through its network of more than 9,000 volunteer mentors across 22 States in the country. Cleartrip’s association with Magic Bus India Foundation dates back to the time when one of Cleartrip’s Founders Matthew Spacie, took the path of working full time for a social cause and founded Magic Bus India Foundation.

Fostering diversity with a layer of women friendly policies and work environment is an integral part of Cleartrip’s DNA since its inception. A heightened focus on building momentum towards building an inclusive workplace for Women of Cleartrip (WoCT) was announced during the 11th anniversary. For its customers, Cleartrip ran an exclusive campaign backed by a TVC where up to 30% cash back was offered to customers across products for a period of 10 days.

Several prominent industry stalwarts and entrepreneurs came forward on the occasion to praise Cleartrip on social media. Kunal Shah, Founder – Freecharge and the current, took to Twitter to congratulate Cleartrip, tweeting, “It inspired many and we @Freecharge always strived to be @Cleartrip of payments when it came to product design. Respect.”  Vikas Malpani, Co-founder and CEO – Common Floor, was also all praises. And called Cleartrip an “inspiration” while extending his wishes on Twitter.

Besides India, Cleartrip has also achieved a clear leadership position in Dubai and the UAE. It now aims to further expand its footprint across other high-potential GCC countries by catering to Arabic users in the region. To target those markets, which also include Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, Cleartrip has recently introduced an Arabic version of the platform. Moreover, witnessing the potential in other markets near that region, the platform is looking to invest in more such innovative offerings in the near future and expand its footprint globally.
