MYF sets up response fund to support transport sector’s employees
The Transport Industry, one of the largest employment generating sectors in the country, has been severely affected by the Corona pandemic, which has left its 40 million drivers affected with no employment, no income, and unable to fulfil their family obligations.
MYF which today is feeding 4000 people in the transport sector daily in cooperation with i2i and team network associated are working to ensure continuous income stream for drivers, cleaners, mechanics, helpers, support staff & their dependents, as well as their affected families through a dedicated Response Fund set up for Covid-19 support and relief.
This CSR fund will provide financial assistance and other benefits to the transport community and their dependents. The funds transfer will be done directly to the beneficiaries account and cover loss of income and provide financial aid for their basic expenses.
Insurance
- Develop a specialized top-up plan like health insurance cover
- including treatment & hospitalization expenses, cost of medicine and other medical services
- Reduce their burden of health care cost
Talent Scholarship
- Providing academic and non-academic scholarships to the children of the transport community
- Dependents of the affected community (especially those who have lost their lives to Covid-19) will find it difficult to continue their education & pursue other interest because of low financial help. This will help the children of such families to pursue a successful career
Soft Loans
- Providing soft loans for instant credit transfer in case of any emergency and other requirements
- To provide financial assistance and reducing the cost burden
Employment Linkages & Skill Upgradation
- Providing employment opportunities & Skill up-gradation programs in the transport sector to those who have lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic
- To ensure a continuous income stream for the affected
The fund will also supply Medi-Kit: Safety, sanitization and awareness to ensure personal hygiene, safety & sanitization of transport vehicles and awareness on delivering goods in hygienic and non-corona infected fashion
And finally, MYF will be setting up helpline number by engaging employee volunteers to provide any kind of assistance and support (legal & other) to drivers & family.
