Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru lights up the Christmas Charity Tree
Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru recently ignited the festive season with grandeur and elegancewith the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the Lobby Lounge. Illuminated by the General Manager, the 23 feet Christmas Tree Lighting evoked nostalgic memories for guests and employees alike. In house guests and other city luminaries including Pavithra Halkatti, Waseem Khan, Aslam Gafoor, Shalini Chopra and Wanitha Ashok to name a few were seen enjoying the festive cheer.
The carolers burst into songs as the tree dazzled with lights and there was applause amongst the guests. The lighting up of the tree was preceded by a cocktail party which included Christmas cocktails, mulled wines and delectable festive food like Smoked Turkey, Wild Berries Quiche, Savory Bacon, Chive Muffins, Four Cheese dip, Whole Wheat Avocado, Paprika Wraps, Salsa Picante, Honey Glazed Pumpkin Tarts with Goat Cheese and Forest Mushroom Filo bags. Live entertainment and music on all days of the celebrations will continue to add to the celebratory spirit.
The city witnessed its first Christmas Market, which will be set up at the hotel till 25th December. Historically the Christmas Market, known by different names in different parts of the world is a street market associated with the celebration of Christmas during the four weeks of Advent. The market is a celebrated affair in Germany, Austria, South Tyrol in Northern Italy, and the eastern French region of Alsace, Lorraine, and Savoy.
The Christmas Market situated at b Café alfresco at the hotel will include several interesting stalls of specially handcrafted festive goodies,X-Mas cakes, Champagne gift hampers, Smoked Salmon, bite sized confection hampers,woolens, jewelryet.al that enliven the festive mood.
Through this event, Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru aimed to bring lot of joy and happiness in the lives of 75 underprivileged children residing at the Angels Orphanage& Cheshire Homes in Bangalore. The hotel encouraged guests to fulfill their small wishes expressed on the wish tree. The hotel will procure and deliver the gifts to these children Adding up to the festive fervor, the hotel will be helping the Angels Orphanage by repainting their premises and making 2017 a memorable year for them all.
