This start-up is elevating the hospitality sector by redefining the way people dine

With successive increase in cashless payments, online booking competition heating up and data security gaining importance, it is quite clear that every service sector is now looking for sound mobile solutions.

Seems that tech solutions are the future of service sector. One such part of the service sector is Hospitality consisting of restaurants and hotels along with tourism, travel, transport and several others. The NRAI IFSR 2016 projects Restaurant Industry to contribute 2.1 to the GDP of India by year 2021. According to the study by Hospitality Technology, 54% of the hotels acknowledge a desire to increase spending in technology.

Observing the same need for dining at restaurants in India, Smit Nebhwani (CEO, Voolsy) and Amrish Patel (President,Voolsy) came up with a brilliant concept for upgrading inside dining for customers.

With Voolsy, the user just needs to go to the dining area be it a restaurant/cafe/pub/bar or a food court – select the dishes, place order and pay for food. The tiring process of waiting for the waiter, selecting the dishes, calling for the waiter again to add more items and wait for the bill to arrive is replaced with a much better experience. Voolsy also has a manager interface which lets restaurants focus on providing efficient services especially during rush hours. Once a customer places order, the manager will have the rights to confirm the order, change an already placed order or cancel an order. The human touch is assisted with an enhanced experience through this app.

Often restaurants are reluctant to accept anything new especially when they have being managing things manually. Even if they have a system set, there is always a gap that offers opportunity to improve. Another fear that any dining area has is that the quality of services being delivered might go down. Trust being an important factor to any service provider, it is crucial that the solutions offered are top notch and meet the need of the hour.

Smit Nebhwani said “I am a foodie myself and often when I go to dine, I see a lot of known restaurants striving to deliver services that are expected from them. Voolsy is an app that leverages technology to deliver a seamless dining experience while keeping ease and convenience for the users in mind. The entire system is quick and systematic which makes it reliable for restaurants to manage their operations”

So far restaurants have adopted mobile ordering, kiosks, facebook ordering, digital menu boards and online coupons to apply tech solutions to its customers. Something that enhances inside dining has been conceptualised for the first time and is gradually gaining acceptance. Voolsy is developed to let a customer control his entire dining experience right from placing order to paying for food. The restaurant owners can track the activities happening at multiple outlets real time and get automated reports as well.

With time, Voolsy has upgraded its services so that clients have to invest less and can use the system with the established processes they follow. Customers are appreciating the ease and quickness that the app offers. Currently Voolsy is operational in three cities – Mumbai, Bangaluru and Ahmedabad with 700+ outlets. Seems the restaurant industry is on its way to a revolution – a dining revolution !!
