Visa Note & Fees
Seamen Visa
• The Applicant should have a passport valid for at least six months beyond the expiry of the visa.
• Three photocopy of the passport.
• One visa forms (photocopy is permitted)
• One recent passport size photograph with white background
• Indian sea men traveling on duty must hold a Letter of Guarantee from the Shipping Company with the requisite “Seaman Book” and “passport”.
• A fax message from the Shipping Agent in Algeria stating particulars of the seamen and date and port of joining the ship is mandatory.
• Confirmed onward / return air ticket (E-Ticket is not acceptable) and a letter of sponsorship (mandatory).
• Copy of bank statements of the last six months.
• Copy of Income Tax Returns for the last three years.
• Processing time is 2 – 3 working days.
• Visa fee has to be paid in the form of a draft in favor of ‘Embassy of Algeria’ payable at New Delhi.

Transit Visa
Note: Very rarely issued, processed on a per-case basis.
• The Applicant should have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of expiry of visa.
• Three photocopy of the passport.
• One visa form (photocopy allowed);
• One recent passport size photograph with white background.
• A covering letter from the applicant explaining the purpose of visit.
• A leave letter from the Employer (if applicable).
• Travel ticket for final Destination along with an onward Visa.
• Processing time is 2-3 working days.
• Visa fee has to be paid in form of a draft in favour of ‘Embassy of Algeria’ payable at New Delhi.

Tourist Visa
Algeria does not offer tourist visa.
Business Visa
• The Applicant should have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of expiry of visa.
• Three photocopy of the passport.
• One visa form (photocopy allowed);
• One recent passport size photograph with white background.
• Confirmed onward/return air ticket (E-Ticket not acceptable)
• A letter of sponsorship (mandatory).
• A covering letter from the concerned Company in India justifying the purpose of visit and period of stay required.
• A Recommendation Letter from the Indian Chamber of Commerce.
• Copy of bank statements of the last six months.
• Original Invitation duly attested by the Algerian Chamber of Commerce to be couriered directly either to the Embassy or to the Applicant, so that the same could be enclosed along with the documents.
• Legalization / Attestation fee is INR 4800 for commercial documents and INR 50 for non-commercial, per, document.
• Processing time is 2-3 working days.
• Visa is issued for a stay of 90 days with a validity of six months. It can be further extended from the local office in Algeria.
• Visa fee has to be paid in form of a draft in favour of ‘Embassy of Algeria’ payable at New Delhi.

Climate- Summer temperatures are high throughout the country, specifically in the south where it is both very dry and hot. During this time road travel becomes difficult and air travel prone to delay because of sandstorms. The Northern cities have high humidity, while those along the coast are cooled by breezes of the sea. During the winter season, the oases of the far south are pleasant and allure many visitors. The desert temperature drops dramatically at night. North of the Sahara, temperatures are quite mild from September to May and vary between day and night. In South of the Sahara, the temperatures are enjoyable from October to April, but there are great variations between day and night. However, the Coastal towns are very prone to storms from the sea. The rainfall is somewhat low throughout the country.
