St. Moritz, the birthplace of winter tourism, hosted guests in the winter for the first time over 150 years ago. The region has become one of the most popular destinations for winter sports. St. Moritz played host for the fifth time to the Alpine Ski World Championships earlier this year after 1934, 1948, 1974 and 2003 and two Olympic Winter Games in 1928 and 1948.
St. Moritz and the Engadin Valley have the oldest ski schools in Switzerland apart from private schools. St. Moritz’ ski instructors will teach the best technique on terrain to suit your ability level. Special classes for children are available where they learn to ski in a special kids area, childcare during lunchtime including lunch and 34 mountain restaurants cater to visitors offering exquisite gastronomic variety.
