Delhi gets new campus for Indian Aviation Academy
Union Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju recently inaugurated the new campus of the Indian Aviation Academy (IAA). The institute was set up in 2010 as collaboration among Airports Authority of India (AAI), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The new campus is spread over eight acres and has 12 training halls, a hostel, an open air theatre, two gymnasiums and other sports and recreational facilities. With the inauguration of the new facility, IAA aims to train double the number of students each year.
IAA runs training programmes in airport operations, aviation safety, airport engineering and planning, air cargo management, environment concerns in aviation, besides regulatory training through DGCA and security training through BCAS, as per a statement.
The institute also offers accredited programmes to participants across the world in collaboration with global aviation bodies such as International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), International Air Transport Association (IATA), Airports Council International (ACI).
