SpiceJet site crashes after airline announces fares from Rs 599

SpiceJet launched its Pre-Summer Sale on Tuesday with fares starting Rs 599 on one-way flights.

Hours after a travel portal began an app-only flash sale on steep annual vacations, budget carrier SpiceJet started its three-day sale on domestic flights.

While travel portal MakeMyTrip offered flat price cuts of Rs 20,000 on return flights to the US till July, the budget carrier announced discounted tickets with base fare of Rs 599 if booked till 25.

The SpiceJet Pre-Summer Sale is available for travel between March 1 and April 13 and the tickets are refundable barring taxes. SpiceJet flyers can also reschedule their bookings at the cost of a change fee and fare difference.

“Pre-summer sale is best suited for travelers who prefer off-season travel to save costs and avoid tourist rush. March – April being a spring season is also good for those travelers also who want to avoid extreme weather conditions,” said Shilpa Bhatia, vice president commercial with SpiceJet.

Other domestic carriers joining the bandwagon has been observed in previous airfares flash sales, said industry experts.
