Argentina strengthens its presence in the US
INPROTUR attended The New York Times Travel Show from 26 to 28 January.
The Ministry of Tourism of the Nation, through the National Institute of Tourism (INPROTUR), participated from 26 to 28 January this 15th edition of the most important travel show Coast eastern United States: the New York Times Travel Show.
In this prestigious meeting, which brought together more than 560 exhibitors from 170 different destinations among foreign and local, of Argentina it was present with its own stand which exhibited its many tourist proposals. Include assistance in the space of INPROTUR the Consul General of Argentina in New York, Ambassador Mateo Estremé.
The meeting participants visited the national stand were able to receive information about our destinations and Argentine wines tasted during the three-day event.
Patagonia, Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls and Mendoz to were some of the most sought after destinations. There was also strong interest in wineries, national parks, gastronomy, art and culture of our country.
In addition, national presence served to make contact with the main players in the sector. In this case, they detailed attended by 95 government agencies of foreign tourism – Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, China, Croatia, Italy, Greece, among others – 68 local – including, Florida, New York and Delaware, 114 hotels, 194 Tour Operators & Cruises and 25 associations – LGBT, Adventure Travel Trade Association, among others.
It is noteworthy that the US market has shown optimal growth in arrivals to our territory. In 2015, they arrived about 340 thousand tourists from the North American country, while in 2016 were 385,000. In turn, it is estimated that the results of 2017 will be close to 400 thousand.
