Kerala Tourism plans to participate in Arabian Travel Market

As part of attracting International tourists to the State, Kerala Tourism is planning to participate in Arabian Travel Market in Dubai to be held from April 22 to 25.

In both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, India was the top performing source market in 2016. In Dubai, 1.8 million Nationals arrived last year compared to 1.6 million in 2015 and in Abu Dhabi, which welcomed a record-breaking 4.4 million visitors in total in 2016, 323,388 were Indians. According to the figures from Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, this marks an increase of 15 per cent in 2015.

In Oman, three million tourists visited the Sultanate in 2016, of which 299,568 were Indians. Historically, numbers increased by 17 per cent in 2015 compared to 2014 and, over the last five years, Oman has seen a 60 per cent increase in the total number of arrivals from India.

Arabian Travel Market, the region’s leading travel industry showcase, opens its doors for business networking opportunities, insightful seminar sessions and top level ministerial discussions.

The event will welcome over 2,600 exhibitors and an expected 30,000 visitors to the largest travel trade event in the Middle East. According to Tourism Department sources here, associates, especially who wish to avail table space in Kerala Stand under India Pavilion at Arabian Travel Market, will be given preference considering their association with the Kerala Tourism in international marketing during the last three consecutive years.

Thirty per cent of the total tables for each partnership meet/fair will be reserved for tour operators accredited by Kerala Tourism.
