Jordan to host resilience through Tourism Summit
International experts, academics and government representatives to showcase how resilience planning is impacting the global travel and tourism industry.
Leading international experts in the field of resilience planning will gather in Jordan in June to discuss best practice for the travel and tourism industry and the impact of tourism resilience on destinations, businesses and the global traveller.
The two-day Resilience Through Tourism Summit (from 26-27 June 2018) will be hosted in Amman by Jordan Tourism Board with the support of international development agency USAID.
Jordan has adopted a strategic approach to tourism resilience planning in recent years, maintaining traveller numbers to the region through perception management, partnerships and the use of positive narrative, as well as embracing new techniques, technology and tactics.
Key speakers at the conference will include the Jordanian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, H.E. Lina Annab, as well as world-renowned speakers from organisations including CBS News, Jamaican Ministry of Tourism, USAID, TripAdvisor, Google, Mastercard and WTTC.
Topics to be discussed will include: ABCs of Resilience, Perception and Brand Management, Creative Use of Analytics, Business Continuity and Regional Cyber security and Social Media.
