Daily flights from Hisar to Chandigarh, Delhi from August 15

While the Delhi-Hisar flight would take about 45 minutes, the Hisar-Chandigarh flight would take around an hour.

The flights from Hisar to Chandigarh and Delhi will begin on August 15 under the regional connectivity scheme (RCS) – ‘Udan’ of the Union civil aviation ministry.

Adviser, civil aviation, Ashok Sangwan told HT that while the Delhi-Hisar flight would take about 45 minutes, the Hisar-Chandigarh flight would take around an hour.

According to initial plan, there would be one daily flight the fare of which is yet to be determined, he added.

An official release said on Friday that chief secretary DS Dhesi, who chaired a meeting here, was informed that Pinnacle Airlines would be operating on these routes while the security, fire and ambulances services would be provided to the airport by police department, urban local bodies department and health department.

The release said that it was also informed in the meeting that the works on renovation of runway and widening of taxiway had been completed whereas the work on extension of apron was under progress.

Apart from this, Airports Authority of India (AAI) would carry out the communication, navigation and monitoring work. The AAI would impart training to firemen and 51 security personnel in July.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of various departments including revenue, home, public works (buildings and road), health, civil aviation and finance.
