TTF opens in Ahmedabad

The biggest-ever Travel and Tourism Fair in the city

The 3-day Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) kicked off on Thursday, in the fully packed Exhibition Halls at Gujarat University.  665 exhibitors from 27 Indian states/UTs and from 23 countries are participating in TTF Ahmedabad, making this an unprecedented networking and business opportunity for the travel trade from all over Gujarat and the Western India region.

TTF Ahmedabad was graced by the presence of Mahendra Vakharia, President, OTOAI; Jong Sool (Michael) Kwon, Korea Tourism Organization, New Delhi and Viranga Bandara, Director, SriLanka Tourism Promotion Bureau among others.

Among exhibitors from abroad, Nepal and Sri Lanka are the Partner Countries where Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau has the largest pavilion. Bahrain and Korea are presented as the Feature Countries, with large pavilions. Other countries being represented at TTF Ahmedabad include Azerbaijan, Bhutan, China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, UAE, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Goa, Odisha, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan are participating with large number of hotels and agents from their regions, as Partner States of TTF. Other states like West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Andaman & Nicobar and Meghalaya have set up colourful pavilions. Gujarat is participating in a big way, as the Host State.

The first two days of the show are reserved for the travel trade and the last day for general visitors. Besides Ahmedabad, the event is visited in large numbers by travel agents and tour operators from proximity markets in Gujarat like Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Valsad, Navsari, Vapi, Bharuch, Ankleshwar, Anand, etc. through the cooperation of a large number of local travel trade associations.

More than 2,500 trade buyers have already pre-registered for TTF Ahmedabad. Overall 10,000 travel trade members and 5,000 general visitors are expected to attend TTF Ahmedabad.

Cox and Kings is the Knowledge Partner of TTF. They will organise a workshop at TTF Ahmedabad wherein they will present destinations – Finland, the Baltic States and Indonesia on the first day of the travel fair i.e. September 7 at 3:00 pm. Various tourist attractions and their packages will be presented by Cox and Kings to the travel agents and visitors. Garuda Indonesia will also present the airline’s connectivity and rates at the workshop.

The three-day travel fair brings together state tourism boards, national tourist offices, hoteliers, airlines, tour operators and travel agents, online travel companies, railways and cruise lines under one roof, for B2B interactions. It also provides an opportunity the visitors can plan for the upcoming holidays.

With consistent support from the tourism departments of the host state Gujarat as well as various other states, Tourism Ministry of Government of India, National Tourist Offices of several countries, hundreds of private exhibitors and trade associations, TTF Ahmedabad continues to be one of the biggest platforms providing opportunities for buyers and sellers from across the country to showcase their latest offerings and build long term business ties.

Just after TTF Ahmedabad, TTF Surat will be held from September 14-16 at the Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium. TTF Ahmedabad has emerged as the biggest show in the 8-city TTF series in India as it serves the booming Ahmedabad and Gujarat markets. It has grown by 20% over 2016.

In view of huge demand, TTF SUMMER has been launched in Ahmedabad (February 1-3, 2019) to help exhibitors tap into the huge summer travel markets.
