Greece recognized as the Most Popular Destination at OTM India Awards 2020

The OTM India Awards is held annually on the sidelines of the Outbound Travel Market (OTM), a leading travel trade show in India, focused on Indian outbound travel.

Greece was recently awarded as the ‘Most Popular Destination’ award at the OTM India Awards 2020 ceremony held in Mumbai. OTM India Awards show is an annual event held along with the Outbound Travel Market (OTM) in Mumbai. OTM Mumbai is organised by Fairfest Media, one of the leading travel trade show organisers in India.

This year OTM was held from 3rd February to 5th  February at The Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. The show recognizes and honours travel companies and destinations for their outstanding performance and contribution to the overall travel and tourism industry.

As an incredibly beautiful country in Europe, Greece boasts of very rich history and culture, and natural beauty.  This year the Greek National Tourism Organization and five other exhibitors from Greece had participated in the OTM. On the occasion, GNTO made a presentation on Greece as a tourist destination, highlighting the country’s rich and diverse tourism offerings. The show was a wonderful occasion for its GNTO and its fellow exhibitors from Greece to interact with representatives of the Indian travel trade and introduce them with their products.

Greece’s Minister of Tourism, H.E. Harris Theocharis was among the select dignitaries present on the occasion of the inauguration of the trade show.  H.E. Theocharis commented, “OTM is very vibrant. It has a lot of pavilions, tourism boards, countries as well as private enterprises. This is indeed the place to be.”

In a statement, GNTO said that this international distinction (recognition as the Most Popular Destination at OTM India Awards 2020) of Greece in the significant Asian market confirms the positive prospects for the increase of inbound tourism from India, on the back of a 30 per cent rise in tourism arrivals from the country last year.
