Sharjah’s Vision for a Bright Future: Enhancing Tourism, Connectivity, and Cultural Heritage
As the Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), I am excited to highlight Sharjah’s growing status as a top global destination. Over the years, Sharjah has developed a unique reputation for combining rich cultural heritage with modern development and exceptional hospitality. Our current focus is on enhancing tourism, improving infrastructure, and promoting sustainability, all while preserving the traditions that define our identity.
Sharjah is undergoing significant transformation, including a rebranding initiative called “Your Sharjah.” This brand aims to establish the emirate as a place where individuals and cultures can create meaningful stories, focusing on creativity, innovation, and sustainable growth. We want Sharjah to be recognized as a place where visitors can experience its heritage, contemporary art, and renowned hospitality.
Recent infrastructure developments, such as a new highway reducing travel time from Sharjah city to the East Coast, make destinations like Khorfakkan and Kalba more accessible. These improvements open up new opportunities for tourism and economic activities in areas celebrated for natural beauty and adventure. Meanwhile, we remain committed to preserving Sharjah’s cultural landmarks for future generations, offering a blend of historical richness and modern amenities.
Sharjah is also setting new standards in luxury tourism, where experiences are deeply rooted in our heritage and focus on sustainability. The Sharjah Safari, the world’s largest safari park outside Africa, exemplifies this approach. Our luxury accommodations, like The Chedi Al Bait Hotel and Al Faya Retreat, also reflect this balance between modern luxury and cultural preservation.
As we expand our infrastructure and tourism offerings, we aim to make Sharjah a leading global destination, with sustainability and community benefits at the forefront.
