‘Make In Odisha’ Conclave: Chief Minister Patnaik holds ‘Ambassador Meet’ at New Delhi

Ahead of the ‘Make In Odisha’ Conclave, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik held an ‘Ambassador Meet’ at New Delhi. The meeting was attended by Hon’ble Minister for External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj and Ambassadors / High Commissioners from 25+ identified countries including Australia, Canada, France, Russia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Norway, Spain, Italy, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Addressing the envoys at the Meet, Sushma Swaraj lauded the initiatives of the State Government and appreciated the industry friendly ecosystem available in the state. She threw light on the abundance of natural resources and availability of skilled labour. Further, she said, it is a matter of pride that in the challenge for Smart Cities, Bhubaneshwar emerged at the top.
Speaking on the sidelines of the meet, Hon’ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “We held very productive discussions today with the envoys. We look forward to strengthening our trade and business relationship with various countries and emerge as the Manufacturing Hub of the East”.
The State delegation presented competitive advantages of Odisha as a manufacturing destination and shared information about more than 200 ‘ready-to-invest’ projects in the State in diverse sectors and areas including industrial parks, textiles, healthcare, manufacturing, food processing, urban infrastructure, petrochemicals, tourism and downstream industries. Besides, talking about the ‘Ease of doing business’ in its pitch to the foreign ambassadors, the state also had a slide on ‘Cost of doing business’.
“The State Government has launched Odisha Industrial Development Plan: Vision 2025 with focused attention on 5 sectors which aims to attract investments to the tune of Rs. 2.5 lakh crore and generate direct & indirect employment opportunities for 30 lakh people. In the recent past, the State has undertaken a series of initiatives to broad-base the industrial development by attracting investments across diversified sectors with significant potential.” said Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Debi Mishra.
