V Resorts – Luxury experiential chain of Boutique Resorts

This is an upscale chain of boutique resorts with the idea of providing harried professionals living in cities with various options for taking a break from the city. Therefore our concept – small properties (5-20 rooms) set in offbeat locations with complete local appeal.

Our properties are small, built to suit local environment, set amidst greenery, with large balconies and sit-out areas to enjoy nature. All properties are in offbeat locations, far from busy tourist areas, yet within easy reach of the main metro cities (Delhi as of now). All properties have a branded restaurant specialising in local cuisine, a bakery and a bar, a spa, an activity room and library. Rooms are comfortable with spectacular views and private sit out areas. Except for a minibar all facilities are provided including our own range of organic toiletries and products. We also have a small retail centre – V Store -where we sell special local products such as jams, juices, dals, scrubs and essential oils.

We sell destinations and not rooms. The idea is to give people an understanding of the place they stay at and we do this by the following-

  1. Local People – recruitment is entirely local, they undergo anintensive training program and work near their homes thus helping withreverse migration.
  2. Local Procurement – Unlike other chains, we only buy local foods and tie up directly with farmers for their produce. We use some at the resort and remainder of the produce is packaged under our brand and sold directly to customers. Farmers enjoy a higher margin for their goods and in some cases we also do day visits to the farm and share the fee with them.
  3. Local Stories – We provide activities and experiences that are found in that area. For example – a tea garden visit in Ramgarh, a winery visit in Sattal, a Yoga Ashram visit in Rajaji etc.
  4. Local Activities – We develop each destination according to aparticular theme such as Sattal – birding destination, Rajaji– yoga destination, etc and we add such de-stressing activities to our portfolio of offerings.
  5. Local Food – Since our staff is local, our menus are based on local cuisine which is not available in the cities.
  6. Local Information – We make small booklets (like a lonely planet) ofour various destinations. This is handed out to the customer on their arrival. It contains information about the destination, activities, people, food and is depicted in a unique manner with all illustrations as handmade pencil drawings made by our spectacular design team.
  7. Local Community – We support the local villages by increasing income, providing employment, supporting the local trade, developing the localmarkets etc. Moreover we support the local hospitals, design effective waste management systems etc. In one of our resorts, we are setting up a solar power plant to aid in electricity.
