Rashmi Verma is the new Tourism Secretary to Government of India

The government has announced appointment of top level bureaucrats in key Ministries of the government. Rashmi Verma has been named the new Tourism Secretary to the Government.

A 1982-cadre IAS of Bihar cadre, Verma has been moved from Textile Ministry to the Tourism Ministry by the government.

Verma has held various key positions in both the home cadre, Bihar, and in the Central departments in more than three decades of her official career. She was Principal Secretary and Managing Director of Tourism, Bihar and also held various senior positions in the Central Finance Ministry in the Revenue Department before her appointment as Secretary – Textiles.

Verma has replaced N K Sinha who has been holding the additional charge as Secretary Tourism since the superannuation of Vinod Zutshi in February.
