Instagram’s official ‘Year in Review 2017’ crowns Atlantis, The Palm as the most photographed hotel in the region and one of the top 10 in the world

Atlantis, The Palm, the iconic destination resort situated on The Palm Island in Dubai has taken the official title as Instagram’s most photographed hotel in Dubai and The Middle East and fourth most snapped hotel in the world. Decided through Instagram’s annual ‘Year in Review 2017’, the top 10 list is pulled together by analysing data from Instagram’s 375 million active users, to see which hotels captured the hearts and minds of thousands of selfie snappers across the world.

Situated on the apex of the Palm in Dubai, the award winning, five-star resort is a firm favourite with celebrities, sports men and women and tourists from all over the world and has been the most iconic landmark on the Dubai skyline since its opening in September 2008. With the average number of posts uploaded reaching 350 everyday, the platform see’s2,500 posts tagging the resort every week and 147,762 uses of #AtlantisThePalm. Consistently a feature on Instagram’s list of top hotels, Atlantis, The Palm is the only resort in 2017 to retain its spot for a second year running, narrowly missing out on the top spot by Marina Bay Sands Singapore and Las Vegas institutions The Bellagio and The Venetian.

With selfies being the most popular choice of Atlantis Instagram posts, there are hundreds of unique locations to choose from within a resort that’s the size of 64 Wembley football pitches. Some of the top locations include Atlantis’ signature Royal Bridge Suite which measures in at 924 square meters and costs US$27,000 per night, in front of the priceless Dale Chihuly sculpture in the Grand Lobby of Atlantis which was created using 3000 hand blown pieces and within one of Atlantis, The Palms 23 restaurants including three outlets by celebrity chefs, Nobu Matsuhisa, Giorgio Locatelli and Gordon Ramsay. Other popular spots include in front of the 10cm thick viewing pane into the Ambassador Lagoon, one of the largest aquariums in the world and home to 65,000 marina animals and at Aquaventure Waterpark, voted number 1 waterpark in Dubai and The Middle East by TripAdvisor 2017.

But it’s not just guests that get the Instagram bug; celebrities who also got snapping in 2017 included Kim Kardashian and Scott Disick whilst filming their reality TV show, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez who took a snap with Nobu Matsuhisa as they dined at Nobu and DJ legend Steve Aoki who took a dip in the lagoon.
