Visa Note & Fees
Work Permit Visa
- The Applicant should possess a passport valid for at least six months.
- Photocopy / Xerox of the first and last page of the passport.
- Two visa forms (back to back photocopy is allowed).
- Two latest passport-size photographs.
- An original covering letter from the Applicant / Company.
- A copy of agreement between both the parties.
- Appointment letter stating terms and conditions of employment including salary, house rent, etc.
- Letter from BOI / BEPZA / Ministry / NGO Affairs Bureau stating that applicant has been appointed in accordance with existing rules and regulation for the time being in force.
- The Sponsor in Bangladesh should apply for Work Permit in Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangladesh and consequent visa can be applied with a copy of the Approval.
- All educational certificates.
- An entry visa, valid for one month will be issued and period of stay will be later specified at the time of entry into Bangladesh.
- Applicant might be required to appear in person.
Transit Visa
Bangladesh does not issue transit visa.
Seamen Visa
- Visa is needed.
- The Applicant should have a passport valid for at least six months.
- Photocopy of the first and last page of the passport.
- Two visa forms (back to back photocopy is permitted).
- Two passport-size photographs.
- Original Covering letter from the Shipping Company.
- Indian seamen traveling on duty must hold a letter of guarantee from the Shipping Company along with Seamen book/ Passport.
- A message / fax should be sent from the Shipping Company in Bangladesh to the High Commission stating particulars of the Seamen, and the date and port of joining the ship.
- Income Tax Returns for the last 3 years.
- Updated Personal Bank statements for the last 6 months.
- Processing time of seamen visa is 2 to 3 working days.
- The Visa is issued Gratis (Free of cost).
Business Visa
- The Applicant should have a passport valid for at least six months.
- Photocopy of the first and last page of the passport.
- Two visa forms (back to back photocopy is allowed).
- Two recent passport-size photographs attached to the application form.
- An original covering letter from the Applicant’s Company.
- Original letter of Invitation from the concerned Company in Bangladesh or it should be faxed directly to the High Commission. A copy should be enclosed with the visa documents. The fax invitation copy should have the fax number on top of the page OR Original invitation is mandatory. It is a compulsory requirement.
- Evidence of being a businessman/or his representative.
- A recommendation letter from the Indian Chamber of Commerce or Certificate of incorporation copy of company.
- In case, an invitation is sent by the Government of Bangladesh for a business approval, seminar or joint venture projects directly to the High Commission, the traveler is not liable for requirement of foreign exchange support on his / her passport.
- A six month stay visa can be issued if the visiting Indian National has a joint venture or a foreign investment participant.
- Multiple entry visas are granted to bona-fide businessmen on the suggestion of the Ministry of Industries or Board of Investment, BEPZA (Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority) Dhaka and Chittagong. Multiple visas are usually issued for maximum of five years.
- Visa is issued Gratis (Free of cost).
Note: To apply for the Multiple entry visa the sponsoring company in Bangladesh should contact the following offices for the Recommendation letter.

- Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority.
- Bangladesh Garments Manufacture Export Association.
Tourist Visa
- The Applicant must possess a passport valid for at least six months.
- Photocopy of the first and last page of the passport.
- Two visa forms (back to back photocopy is permitted).
- Two recent passport-size photographs.
- Original Covering letter from the Applicant with all details including residing address in Bangladesh.
- Proof of hotel confirmation.
- Proof of applicant’s profession should be submitted.
- In case of sponsorship, foreign exchange endorsement of at least US $50.
- The sponsorship must be on more than a 10 Taka stamp paper and must be countersigned by a first class magistrate in Bangladesh.
- All documents and addresses must tally with the passport.
- Visa is valid for 30 days with a maximum stay of 30 days allowed.
- Processing time is 2 to 3 working days.
- Visa is issued Gratis (Free of cost).
