Celebrate World Tapas Day in India’s Metro cities
World Tapas Day celebrations in India will be held in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru 15th June onwards. This initiative led by the Spanish Tourism Board and the gastronomical association ‘Tasting Spain’ will take place simultaneously in Spain and 31 countries around the world.
Tapas – the small (or not that small) portion of food that Spaniards love to have along with a drink are well recognized worldwide as symbol not only of the Spanish gastronomy but also of its traditions and lifestyle. Therefore, Tapas Day is celebrated every year on the third Thursday of June, an occasion to commemorate and enjoy the Spanish gastronomy around the world.
This year the celebrations will be held in 31 countries in collaboration with 733 restaurants and more than 100 sponsors and partners. In India, the Tourism Office of Spain along with the Spanish Chef Alejandro Espinosa, Executive Chef at ‘El Patio de la Catedral’ (Spain) in collaboration with Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, Sevilla restaurant at The Claridges New Delhi and Caperberry and Fava restaurants in Bengaluru are bringing together an exciting program of activities from 13th to 25th June.
Gastronomy Week at Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai:
Celebration dates: From 13th to 17th June
Offer: A ´Spanish Tapas´ menu curated specially for the occasion by the Spanish Chef Alejandro Espinosa, who is joining the hotel team currently led by Chef Dessi DeVries will be available and offered at Café Prato & Bar and AER Bar and Lounge of Four Seasons Hotel. Furthermore, both Chefs will be hosting a Spanish Tapas Masterclass on 15th June to a specific invited audience.
Special Tapas Menu at Sevilla at The Claridges New Delhi:
Celebration dates: From 15th to 25th June
Offer: The Sevilla restaurant at The Claridges Hotel is bringing together a special menu called ´Spanish Tapas´ to celebrate World Tapas Day which will be offered from 15th to 25th June. The Restaurant well-known for its authentic Spanish food offering in the capital of India proposes an excellent combination of the most famous Spanish Tapas along with a glass of refreshing Sangria.
Celebrating Spanish cuisine at Caperberry & Fava in Bengaluru
Celebration dates: From 15th to 24th June
Offer: The excellent collaboration between the host Chef Abhijit Saha (Executive chef of both restaurants) and the guest Chef Alejandro Espinosa has produced a special tapas menu that will be available along with the menu of the restaurants from 15th to 24th June. On top of that, on 16th June they will host the Spanish Fiesta’ – an evening where both chefs will share their expertise in Tapas and Spanish gastronomy with restaurant guests while enjoying a selection of tapas and wines.
