Delegates of TTB visit India to promote Taiwan as top tourism destination in Asia

Taiwan Tourism Bureau (TTB) under the Ministry of Transportation and Communication (MOTC) recently lead a delegation comprising of private entities to promote Taiwan tourism in the two major cities of India- Mumbai and New Delhi. During their visit, they participated in SATTE 2018 and organised a workshop and educational seminar to boost bilateral ties to attract Indian travelers.

Focusing on “2018 Year of Bay Tourism”, the event gave a glimpse of “Beautiful Sea, Colorful Night” in Taiwan by replicating sceneries and resorts like Nanfangao’s Tofu Cove and Cape Santiago Lighthouse at the booth. They held an educational seminar and invited several Indian travel agents to showcase the charm of Taiwan and establish the beautiful island country as a preferred tourist destination/hub.

Trust Lin, Director, TTB Singapore office emphasized that TTB will encourage and promote Wedding Travel, Business Trip and Exhibitions Events to grow the volume of Indian visitors. Eric Lin, Chief Secretary of TTB mentioned that they will focus on “Global Vision, Reach the World” to develop the travel marketplace by providing customized services.

The delegation consisted of 14 travel-related entities, including travel agencies, tourism associations and other travel pertinent organization in a bid to strengthen partner confidence and create opportunities for industry collaborations. The event also saw some great performances by Taiwan renowned dancing group- Grace Pump Crew. They wore the aboriginal traditional clothes and performed the Freestyle, Break and other forms of dance to present the Taiwanese culture. Popular ink-wash painting Master in Taiwan, Lin Jim was the star attraction at the event as guests took turns to get their portraits in ink-wash panting. This was accompanied by the traditional and pleasant music played by the Master of Guqin- Tseng Pohao.

Over the last few years, the Indian economy has grown exponentially and the trend of travelling abroad has increased sharply. Going forward, TTB will follow the “New Southbound Policy” revealed by the Taiwan government and channelize efforts to promote Taiwan Tourism in India.

TTB conducts workshop and educational seminar in Mumbai and Delhi

Taiwan Tourism Bureau (TTB) also conducted a workshop and an educational seminar in Mumbai and Delhi as a pre-events to the very successful participation in SATTE 2018.  The aim of the workshop and educational seminar was to meet the city’s premium travel agents and tour operators to discuss hotels, transportation, flights and much more to Taiwan — to enable the agents to plan the perfect MICE, wedding, honeymoon or holiday to Taiwan! 

In order to further strengthen promotions and to make the workshop experience interesting, a question answer session was held followed by a Lucky Draw where the winners were presented with iPhones, iPad and Virtual Reality Players.
