A great photograph takes a second to click and a lifetime to prepare for… Photography is a painstakingly passionate process, but it can also offer inspiring results. The Serai & Barefoot Resorts has begun their second edition of the inimitable Shutterbug Photography contest which invites visual storytellers to capture the most beautiful moments and experiences of their stay at The Serai and Barefoot Resorts. The Shutterbug Photography contest has been conceptualized with the objective of providing a platform to the guests to capture diverse landscapes during their stay at The Serai & Barefoot Resorts. The photography contest received exceptional participation in the previous year and is now an established annual property by The Serai Resorts that captivates the photography enthusiasts.

From landscape and star trail to time lapse and night photography, guests at The Serai Resorts can explore their photography talent and access numerous visually pleasant sights. The contest is open to all the guests staying at the The Serai Resorts in Kabini, Bandipur, Chikmagalur or Barefoot Resorts at the Andaman. Travel photography is one of the most popular subjects, and there are a plethora of fascinating sights ready to be captured on camera. It gives one the opportunity to engage oneself at the destination, it’s people, the culture, the landscape and nature.

The grand prize includes a cash prize of Rs one lakh and free 2 night stay at any of The Serai properties at Chikmagalur, Kabini, Bandipur and The Barefoot, Andamans. The contest commenced in April and will end in December 2017. Additionally, winners and participants stand the chance to have their work exhibited through various platforms in sync with the brand’s marketing plans.

The Serai Resorts endeavors to create everlasting memories, share the beautiful memories of the guests who holiday with them and promote the uniqueness of the destinations.

There are 4 different categories that contestants can submit photos under:

  1. a) Nature and Landscape- Snapshots of the destination, Sunrise, Sunsets, Wildlife, Beach, Underwater photographs; winning prize- 2 night stay at The Serai Chikmagalur
  2. b) Best Photograph In & Around- photographs of interesting places in and around the resorts- places displaying heritage, the local culture, the people, their lifestyle, cuisine et al; winning prize- 2/3 night stay at The Barefoot Resorts, Andamans
  3. c) Best Photograph My Moments- Selfies, Happiness, moments of Togetherness and Family; winning prize- 2 night stay at The Serai Kabini
  4. d) Architecture- Of the place where they are holidaying, influence/inspiration of the local culture on the architecture; winning prize- 2 night stay at The Serai Bandipur
