IndiGo to soon operate direct daily flights to Colombo
- 6E to operate daily flights from Chennai, Bengaluru starting January 20, 2018
- Colombo soon to be its 8th international and 49th overall destination on 6E network
In its endeavour to expand and strengthen its growing network, IndiGo, India’s largest and fastest growing low-cost carrier, today shared its operational plans from Colombo. With daily direct flights from Chennai and Bengaluru, Colombo will become IndiGo’s 8th international and 49th overall destination effective January 20, 2018.
With these new flights IndiGo will also offer convenient connections to & from Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai & other major Indian cities. Both corporate and leisure passengers travelling to and from Colombo will get the opportunity to experience on-time, affordable and a hassle-free travel experience that IndiGo is synonymous with. These new flights will further consolidate IndiGo’s position as the fastest growing airline in India with over 150 Airbus A320 and three ATR aircraft strong fleet, operating over 1000 daily flights, connecting 49 destinations w.e.f January 20, 2018.
Addressing the media gathering, Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, “It gives us immense pleasure to add Colombo to our growing network, which will not only help us cater to the growing tourist potential of the city, but also provide affordable travel options to the Indian workforce who can now look forward to visiting the city more frequently.
