Luxury cruise liner to Varanasi and Dhaka
The West Bengal government has signed MoU with luxury cruise liner to kick off river cruise from Kolkata to Varanasi for tourists. The state government also plans to begin similar Indo-Bangla protocol route that would take tourists from Kolkata to Dhaka in the coming period and connect both the countries through the river transport system.
The luxury vessel will be replete with a hotel in itself and there would be state-of-the-art amenities like air-conditioned cabins, salon, spa, library and dining room. Other facilities on the cards would be cookery classes, yoga sessions and lectures on the board. The Indo-Bangla protocol route would give a chance to visitors to have a glimpse of the Sundarbans. Once the riverine route takes off, it will take around five days for a container to reach Dhaka since the distance traversed would be much less than the present day.
