MMPRC Signed as associate partner for the first travel trade show in Maldives MMPRC announced that it has signed a contract with Maldives Getaways Pvt Ltd, to become the associate partner of Travel Trade Maldives (TTM), the first Travel Trade Show to take place in Maldives. TTM 2017 will be organised in July 2017 in Dharubaaruge, Male. The event will provide a platform to connect the travel trade community of Maldives to a global network of travel agents and facilitate the tourism industry of the Maldives. The annual TTM will be a vibrant business-to-business event, presenting a diverse range of accommodations and attractions to local and international travel professionals. More than 300 hoteliers, suppliers, related industries and travel professionals from the Maldives and around the world are expected to attend TTM 2017 to network, negotiate and discover the latest industry opinion and trends in the Maldives. New properties in Maldives MMPC also divulged about various new luxury resorts in Maldives that have come up in end of 2016. A large number of resorts are also coming up in 2017. Local operator Secret Paradise supports local initiatives and promotes responsible tourism Secret Paradise is designed to encourage guests to engage with local people and experience the very best from the Maldives archipelago. To assist the company’s efforts in promoting local tourism in line with Maldives culture and beliefs, in respecting the communities who open their homes to guests, and in implementing efforts to protect the local environment, Secret Paradise has partnered with NGOs, marine life charities and volunteer groups. Guests are encouraged to become actively involved in conservation programs and learn how they too can be responsible during their stay in the Maldives. Recently, Secret Paradise launched a conservation awareness tour to the local island of Villimale, where guests are able to spend the afternoon with NGO group Save the Beach and gain an insight into the conservation challenges that face an island during development.
