New Expedia Group Research: Why Indian Travelers Rely on Advisors and What Keeps Them Coming Back

Expedia Group has released “Decoding the Travel Advisor Client,” a research report uncovering why Indian travelers turn to travel advisors and what builds lasting client relationships.

Conducted with Wakefield Research, the study highlights emerging traveler trends and equips advisors with strategies to attract and retain clients while driving business growth in 2025.

Key findings reveal:

  • Time savings is the #1 reason Indians turn to travel advisors (68%)
  • Reviews/recommendations of the agency plays the biggest role in advisor selection for Indians
  • Indians rely on advisors for more than bookings, with higher-than-average demand for tours and activities, car rentals, and train tickets
  • 87% of Indian travelers have changed their travel advisor in the past 5 years (versus 62% on average)
