To be attended by over 20 artists on the theme of eco-traveling

Platform For Artists (PFA), a Pune based community of artists that focuses on creating inter-disciplinary artwork announces it’s 10th Art Getaway in Panchgani in association with Zostel, India’s first and the largest chain of backpackers’ hostels. The event in the form of a residency will take place between August 10th – 12th. Just before Independence Day celebrations, the getaway themed along Zostel’s new eco-travel campaign #iTravelGreen will focus on the freedom of expression through art in any form.

Platform For Artists has operations across 8 cities and has already conducted nine art getaways in various locations in partnerships with prominent hostel chains in the past. This event also marks the start of PFA/s newest service – PFA Artist service provider. It is an initiative  to an initiative to simplify artistic services by giving clients a one-stop solution to hire an artist for their business. The service will also help registered artists by providing them potential freelancing projects or job opportunities. The artist service arm will be run by a dedicated design studio comprised of six exceptionally talented people.

Talking about the partnership, Pawan Rochwani, Founder of PFA says, “Zostel has its unique identity when it comes to backpacking and travelling across the country. Similarly, PFA is a one of its kind artist community where we execute new ideas every time we plan a project. We partnered with Zostel to mutually benefit by reaching out to people who are enthusiastic about travelling as well as art. As a community, we always look for opportunities to collaborate with other brands to explore the possibilities of outcomes and this step is a major one towards reaching the right audience.”

Kshitija Sarda, the 21 year old CEO and Co-founder of Platform For Artists adds, “Our Art Getaway is a unique concept where the idea of travel and art is merged to multiply the possible outcomes. We believe that travel and distance plays an important role to fuel the creativity of an individual. Hence we organize 3-4 days project in different places in India where around 20 artists with varied backgrounds come together to explore their skills and collaborate with other artists to create satisfying artwork. In the past getaways we have seen a plethora of people from a variety of backgrounds come together. This time too we hope to meet an eclectic bunch in Panchgani. It is an important time for us, marking the start of our newest service – PFA Artist Service Provider; which will help us bridge the gap between demand and supply of creative individuals in the society.

She also says, “We are excited to partner with the country’s largest and most popular hostel chain. We look forward to enrich the travelling experience of creative minds by adding an artistic element to it.”

Travel and creativity have long been equated as two sides of the same coin. Through this partnership, Platform For Artists will open up an opportunity for budding artists to think beyond the possible and portray it through their passion. There will be three days of immersive collaborative projects, sessions with experts and exploration around the destination. There will be a clean-up drive as part of the #iTravelGreen project by Zostel, in order to create awareness about the responsibility of a tourist to travel responsibly and cause as less harm as possible to a destination.

Zostel Panchgani is the first hostel built of shipping containers and carries a strong message of up cycling and recycling. The 10th PFA Art Getaway will see more than 20 artists coming together at the venue for 3 days for an experiential weekend. Registrations are open for participants. One can register paying Rs. 4500 for the entire weekend which includes stay and breakfast.
