Later, it was conquered by the Muslim rulers. The site is 35 km from the Dhar city and 100 km from Indore. It is around 283 km away from the capital city, Bhopal. It is a popular tourist destination due to its fine architecture and legends along with its beautiful landscape. Mandu is also famous for the love story of Rajput princess Rani Roopmati and the last Sultan of Malwa, Baz Bahadur.
